Philosophy…

One thing is for sure, we have to move our bodies if we want to stay fluid and strong. Finding time is a challenge…work, family, friends, eating healthy, working out… IT’S A LOT! I say, keep it simple!! Let’s focus on self care. Fitness, like the rest of our lives, should be about enjoyment, not punishment! Don’t workout to delete last night’s Netflix and chips. Instead, work out to be part of a community, to be graceful, to be fit for your kids or your grandkids, to stay independent and strong! Find something you enjoy and focus on how you feel. Let’s try to be more comfortable in our skin because that’s confidence and it’s also kind of sexy!

   Strength and endurance training is vital for a healthy body. Choosing to work with a trainer can take your workouts to a new level. You will have someone there with you every step of the way, supporting you and guiding you toward the safest, most effective way to reach your goals. When we choose to work together, I will assess your posture and your health and fitness background to find the workouts that are appropriate for your unique body and your goals. It’s a whole body approach. Whatever your goal, seeing yourself grow stronger and leaner or move with more ease is incredibly rewarding. That being said, there is definitely some hard work involved but we certainly have some fun along the way. Many of my clients discover that they can do things they never thought they were capable of.

We incorporate postures, breathe work and meditation to build strength, increase flexibility and improve balance. The practice of Yoga also creates a strong mind-body connection. We work with body weight, bands and bolsters to mobilize your joints, stabilize your core and strengthen and balance your muscle groups. Decrease your discomfort, risk of injury and falls and increase your grace and confidence. Relaxing, challenging and endlessly rewarding.

One on One Pilates

Grace

One of the first changes most people notice when they begin Pilates training is an increase in their postural awareness and a feeling of being a ‘little taller’ and aligned. Pilates can increase strength, flexibility and core stability. The movements flow from one exercise to the next, each one promoting stabilization of your core and joint mobility which assists you in moving with more ease and grace throughout your day. Pilates also promotes a strong mind-body connection. You can’t perform the movements without your mind being totally focused. This allows you to be completely in the moment for at least one hour of your busy day. Finally, one on one instruction allows for your instructor’s undivided attention. It’s all about you and how your body is responding and moving.
